Where are the miracles III?

Looking at the four basic problems in the mentioned ineffectual altar call. We find some disturbing issues, don't be surprised but we are all disturbed by sin, so don't point any fingers.

"First we bring an altar call before the people that has not been prayed for properly prior to.". OK so what did the minister do wrong? Well they did not humble themselves before the most high God. We should be praying for the application of the blood of Christ and the acceptance of His transforming power. However He wants to bring it and apply our faith while we remove doubt. If we come to the prayer meeting before service with doubt, confess it and ask for the group to pray for you.

"Second we don't require faith of the people coming to the altar by saying that we cannot have expectations that are too lofty of God." don't have people coming to the altar that don't believe. I know that this seems very cruel but the people need to understand that if they need a miracle then they should be coming up. If they just are coming up for something to do then why, no faith is enacted. Once again negative statements should be removed from any sermon.

"Third we make excuses for God on things that we don't understand and then it is misunderstood by the people that are in need of the miraculous."
To often we concern ourselves with trying to answer the questions that God alone should be answering. We want to defend Him, but don't just let God be God. Good quote I heard once "how do I defend God? like I would a lion by letting him out of his cage"

"Finally we are the focal point of the altar call instead of God being in His proper place as King." most of the time we focus on the agenda of the minister. We see people out there and we want to give them so many ways out of their predicament. Some ministers in the compassion of their heart forget that they are not the one saving the people. Let God do it. Others are so dead set on getting the message across in the right way and hoping that the sermon is perfect while praise and worship is not to long and etc. Wrong when you are in need of the miraculous, forget the rest of the junk, take yourself out of the picture and let God in.
